Parent Focus Group

Our Parent Focus Groups provides the all-important parent and carer perspective on all that we do and has greatly enhanced our success.

Parents are attached to Departments within the Academy and work closely with the Curriculum Leaders discussing curriculum issues, raising achievement and departmental needs.  The members meet half-termly to represent their areas in Community and Achievement matters with the Chairperson representing the opinions and findings of the group as Parent Governor.  These meetings are also attended by representative students and staff as required.

Members are a vital link between the school and the local community and get involved in key initiatives that make a big difference to the future of Academy life.

In the past the groups have helped design the new Barnfield Sixth Form Curriculum and Enterprise provision for students, and helped plan the Community's ICT Provision at the Academy's new build.
